Christopher A. Wood is a Principal and Director of Northwest Atlantic. Chris began his retail real estate experience in 1991, providing sales and leasing services in Western Canada. Previous to specializing in tenant-mandated commercial real estate, Chris worked in investment sales for several years with a national commercial real estate firm. He has focused solely on retail real estate in Western Canada since 1991.
Chris has worked and represented a number of rapidly expanding large and mid-sized retailers including Best Buy, Canadian Tire, Cineplex Odeon, Chapters, Future Shop, PetSmart, Pier 1 Imports, Restoration Hardware, Shoppers Drug Mart, Town Shoes and Wild Oats Markets throughout Western Canada as well as the Pacific Northwest, Alaska and Hawaii. Over the last seven years alone, Chris has leased in excess of 2.5 million square feet.
Chris provides market and demographic analyses, strategic expansion plans, site assembly services, site analyses, disposition and buyout services as well as sale and lease negotiation expertise to his clients. Chris’ extensive knowledge of the Western Canadian markets, combined with his education and dedication, has made him successful in his retail real estate career.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Urban Land Economics as well as an International Finance Diploma from the University of Copenhagen.
Scott Lee is a Principal and Director of Northwest Atlantic and has been actively involved in retail real estate in Western Canada since 1989. Prior to the inception of Northwest Atlantic in 1996, Scott was a Senior Sales Associate with the Vancouver office of an international brokerage firm, specializing in the sale and leasing of commercial properties in the urban and suburban markets.
Scott has represented many of the premier retailers in Canada including Lowe's Home Improvement, PETsMART, Wal-Mart, Winners, HomeSense and Marshalls throughout Western Canada. Scott provides market and demographic analysis, strategic expansion plans, site assembly services, disposition and buyout services as well as sale and lease negotiation expertise. Scott’s past experience of working with both tenants and landlords has provided him with a solid foundation of knowledge throughout the Western Canadian marketplace.
Over the last 15 years, Scott has focused on implementing the real estate strategy for Wal-Mart Canada Corp. throughout Western Canada. In 2011, Scott assisted Target Canada with the acquisition of over 120 leases from Zellers and oversaw the disposition of the excess leases to third parties. The secret to Scott’s successful retail real estate career is his commitment to the industry, established resources and his educational background. Scott is a member of the Real Estate Councils of B.C. and Alberta, and has been the Co-Chair of the Whistler ICSC Organizing Committee from 2003 – 2005. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree specializing in Urban Land Economics from the University of British Columbia.
Chris Chan brought to Northwest Atlantic over five years of experience in the real estate industry, having spent the majority of that time with a boutique retail leasing company specializing in project representation.
Since joining Northwest Atlantic in 1997, Chris has successfully transitioned to the Tenant Mandate side. Holding an Urban Land Economics Diploma from the University of British Columbia, as well as a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Victoria in Entrepreneurship, Chris’ educational background and work experience gives him an advantage in Tenant Mandated retail leasing.
Chris provides market and demographic analysis, strategic expansion planning and roll-out services; currently working for such retailers as Gap Inc., Chatters, Coast Capital Savings, Elephant & Castle Restaurants, and Jysk Bed Bath Home.
Chris’ past involvements have seen successful roll-outs of other retail and restaurant clients such as The Spectra Group of Great Restaurants (Bread Garden and Milestones), Canadian Tire (PartSource), FedEx Kinko’s, Chuck E. Cheeses, General Nutrition Centres and Joeys Restaurants.
Jason Schouten is a Vice President of Northwest Atlantic. Prior to joining Northwest Atlantic in the fall of 2006, Jason worked as an Acquisitions and Leasing Manager for a commercial development and acquisitions company in Western Canada. His previous experience has provided him with insight and understanding of the fundamentals of successful real estate deal negotiations.
Since joining the company Jason has taken on the role of Tenant Representative working closely with retailers such as Dairy Queen and Shoppers Home Health Care, providing services such as market and demographic analyses, strategic expansion planning and roll-out services as well as development land acquisitions. Currently Jason handles several high profile mandates such as Bed Bath & Beyond, Cora's, The Source and Booster Juice.
Jason holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, with a Major in Real Estate from the University of British Columbia.
Daniel joined Northwest Atlantic in 2008 as an Associate in the Tenant Representation side of the business. Daniel has worked extensively throughout Western Canada with a number of high-profile national retailers. He joins Northwest Atlantic from a Vancouver-based real estate firm where he spent 2 years as a tenant representative. Currently Daniel is working with a number of Northwest Atlantic’s retailers including PetSmart, Joey’s Restaurants, Pier 1 Imports and The Shoe Company.
Daniel is a graduate of the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business with a Major in Urban Land Economics. His experience base well compliments the existing strength and depth of the Vancouver team and enables the continued growth of the business in Western Canada.
Brodie joined Northwest Atlantic in 2010 as an Associate and is mandated to further the success of the Project Support Services Division in addition to Tenant Representation.
He joins Northwest Atlantic from an international real estate firm’s Vancouver office, where he spent over 2 years facilitating transactions on behalf of a variety of landlords, tenants, buyers and sellers as a broker on the Retail Team. Prior to that, he was with a boutique developer where he managed and coordinated the firm’s development projects throughout Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.
Brodie holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Urban Land Economics from the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business. He is also a member of the Green Building Council and a LEED accredited professional. His diversified experience base will add further strength and depth to the Vancouver team.
Jason joined Northwest Atlantic in 2011 as an Associate in the
Tenant Representation side of the business. Jason comes from a multi-national Calgary based real estate firm where he spent a number of
years in the Client Advisory Services Group providing exceptional service to both
retail and office clients as well as initiating investment sales transactions.
Additionally, Jason began his real estate career in the residential real estate
market where he earned multiple sales awards for the Western Canada region.
Jason attended Mount Royal University and Olds College in Calgary. His
extensive knowledge and experience in the Alberta market will provide additional
strength and depth to the Vancouver team.
